Karl May is famous above all for his adventure novels, the majority of which were set in the Orient, in Mexico or in the United States of the 19th century.

Once a country seat of Saxony's electors and kings, the Radebeul winery can today look back over more than 600 years of traditional wine cultivation. Visit the Hoflößnitz Wine Museum and the tavern and shop selling organically cultivated local wines.

An emblematic landmark of Radebeul, high above the town, the Spitzhaus was originally built as a summer house and is today a popular restaurant with tourists and walkers. Enjoy regional cuisine and the wide panoramic views over the Elbe valley as far as Dresden and the Saxon Switzerland. And if you want to lend your excursion a sporting touch, choose the path to the viewpoint via the Spitzhaus Staircase with its 397 steps.
