Cortina

The Cortina largely features the same technology as its sister machine, the Commander CT, but with one key difference: it produces newspapers, magazines and ad supplements in coldset and/or heatset printing in brilliant quality, without water and without ink keys.

The waterless, keyless inking unit technology used in the Cortina requires no ink-water balance run-in, thereby shortening the start-up phase compared with conventional wet offset printing. In addition, it enables particularly dot-sharp printing up to 70 lpc (175 lpi) and FM screens. What is more, the Cortina offers ideal conditions for labour-saving, ergonomic operation with little cleaning and maintenance effort.

Its format and substrate flexibility is above average; furthermore, the printing process operates completely without dampening solution or chemical additives.

With its proven PlateTronic™ fully automatic plate changers, RollerTronic™ roller locks, NipTronic™ cylinder bearings and the StepIn™ eight-tower concept, the Cortina features the same benchmarks as the Commander CT. Printing with the same ink in coldset and heatset is possible on the Cortina without long changeover times. A further unique selling point is inline coating in coldset printing for particularly high-quality print products.
