We give them the freedom to work independently and contribute their ideas. This unique combination of well-founded theory and direct application, coupled with the dedicated guidance of experienced colleagues, pays off. It is impressive to see how quickly the apprentices develop and the excellent results they achieve. A prime example of the far-reaching benefits of this apprenticeship is the development of applications for other locations and business units. Our IT specialist apprentices are not only capable of optimising internal processes; they are already developing software solutions and innovative concepts that transcend departmental and even location boundaries, creating genuine added value. Digitalisation is the keyword – low-code applications and apps, sensor data and automation, as well as analytics.
For instance, the development of a special application was significantly initiated by one of our dedicated apprentices from the Radebeul site and developed for Koenig & Bauer Industrial in Würzburg. This is a perfect example of how the acquired skills can contribute to a noticeable improvement in collaboration and efficiency throughout the company, as Markus Rehm, Head of Digitalisation & Technology Operations at Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed, states: ‘It is impressive how fast we move forward thanks to the trainees’ support through their creativity and commitment.'
